When to think about preserving your fertility

There are many reasons that people of all ages consider preserving their fertility. For some, they may be interested in starting a family but are not in a position where it’s possible right now. This may be common for people who are worried about their fertility chances as they get older. Preservation treatment can prolong their ability to have a child until the time feels right for them.

Others may be interested in preserving their fertility due to medical conditions that may limit fertility, or upcoming medical treatments that carry risk to their eggs or sperm. If you are considering fertility preservation for medical reasons, please be sure to mention this to our specialist team.

Our fertility experts are here to guide you through the process and help give you the best chance of being able to reproduce when you are able and ready in the future.

Preservation methods

Your fertility preservation involves a relatively straightforward treatment and our exceptional facilities. Human gametes (including eggs, sperm and embryos) can each be carefully preserved using vitrification, a very safe method of rapidly cooling the samples with liquid nitrogen. All samples are preserved and stored in our on-site lab.

As women age, it becomes less likely that they will be able to fall pregnant naturally, but preserving eggs for fertility in the future can help you prolong your ability to reproduce and try for a baby when you’re ready. Whether personal or medical egg freezing, our female fertility preservation is a way to help you try and get pregnant in the future.

Male fertility typically lasts longer than that of females, but personal circumstances or medical situations may make male fertility preservation necessary to preserve fertility for a later time. Our fertility specialists can help you make an informed decision about what to do, and how you can use your sample in fertility treatment later on.
